In celebration of Liga Privada's tenth anniversary, Drew Estate embarked on a monumental venture at their Nicaraguan production facility, La Gran Fabrica, resulting in the creation of two exceptional cigars: the Aniversario 10 and the H99. The "H" in the latter's name symbolizes "hybrid," representing a leaf derived from the hybridization of Corojo seeds, initially challenging to cultivate outside of Cuba. Jonathan Drew, the founder, acknowledged the difficulties of cultivating Corojo in new regions such as Florida, Nicaragua, and Honduras. However, these challenges sparked innovation. The Drew Estate Liga Privada H99 expertly blends the qualities of Connecticut Broadleaf and Corojo, complemented by a Mexican San Andreas negro binder, resulting in a flavor-rich profile. Crafted by master blender Willy Herrera, this hybridized leaf offers initial spiciness and strength, evolving into notes of leather and subtle sweetness, ultimately culminating in delightful hints of black licorice or clove—an exquisite addition to the Liga Privada lineup.
